A Klein Karoo Gem - Cape C.R.O.W.

Nola Frazer has created a haven for the intrepid traveller to come and visit.

The Peace and Awareness Centre, Baboon Park and The Manger are situated on a smallholding just 15km outside Barrydale; at Lemoenshoek on route 62 in the Klein Karoo is a very magic spot that very few people know about.

For individuals or those with families who are seeking a quiet stay in a country environment under starry skies Nola is offering:

  • Self-catering accommodation at affordable rates. This includes a back-packers venue, a cottage for 2-3 people and a space for facilitators offering their own workshops (approx. 16 people) on healing, meditation or yoga. Nola is also fortunate in being able to accommodate approx. 6 - 9 more adults in her ‘sister’ home, Holmelea, in Barrydale. This home is run by Ann and Turk and offers self-catering facilities surrounded by beautiful gardens. Visitors there are also welcome to the farm facilities, the labyrinth and bird-hide at Cape C.R.O.W.
  • At Cape C.R.O.W. children’s groups that are accompanied by their teachers can enjoy a hiking trail, a mountain bike trail, observing the behaviour of baboons through binoculars from a viewing hide, tractor/trailer rides, learning about the wild Karoo plants, having a few days on a farm working in the vegetable garden,  feeding the fish and the The Manger’s farm animals  (chickens, ducks, goats, rabbits), enjoying a meal  round a camp-fire under the magical Karoo stars, that provides an educational and healing experience.
  • The Labyrinth, a sacred-walking, meditation-tool, which offers a safe space to support your journey of transformation and healing. Here you can regain your inner peace, clarity and strength. We offer short talks on the labyrinth so that visitors can understand the concepts it symbolizes and benefit from its profound ability to enhance peace and awareness.
  • South Africa’s Peace Pagoda, donated by the monks of Myanmar in December 2000, invites you to gather in its vicinity and meditate silently, breathing in the joy of the sunrise or the peace of the sunset.  This pagoda is one of a small number built on all the continents of the earth with the purpose of uniting the globe in universal peace. It is the only one of its kind in Africa, symbolizing peace for this continent. Nola and friends hold group full-moon labyrinth walks followed by silent time at the Pagoda on Calendar full moon evenings.
  • At Chico’s Pancake Corner you can end your meditation with a fruit or vegetarian pancake and tea/coffee. Chico is the resident Cockatoo, who enjoys a good laugh with visitors, and his corner is also available daily for pancakes with various fillings, and second hand book sales.
  • The Baboon Park houses 4 troops of baboons in the 4 x 5 hectare electrified fenced enclosures. This sanctuary cares for and restores baboons, when possible, back into the natural habitat.

Nola would love to hear from you and really hopes you will schedule-in a visit to the Peace and Awareness Centre, Baboon Park and The Manger.
